Marc J. Strauss, Of Counsel

Marc J. Strauss joined Foster, Buick, Conklin & Lundgren, LLC, in 2013 in an Of Counsel capacity. Prior to joining the firm, Marc worked for 12 years as General Counsel for First Rockford Group, gaining considerable legal and business experience which will benefit the firm’s clients.

A member of the local legal community since 1990, licensed as an attorney in 1979, Marc previously practiced in Sycamore after arriving here from Chicago, where he forged an innovative real estate and development based practice during the 1980’s. Despite working in Rockford, Marc maintained his close connections to this community as a DeKalb resident and member of Northern Illinois University’s Board of Trustees for the last decade.

Marc resides in DeKalb with his wife, Terri, and enjoys hiking, golf, and travel. He counts his time working with local service organizations, including the Kishwaukee Kiwanis, DeKalb Chamber of Commerce, TAILS Humane Society, and KishHealth System, among his most valuable and rewarding experiences. Marc's practice is concentrated in commercial real estate lending, purchases and sales; land use (zoning and subdivisions), and finance; general business transactions; secured lending and corporate finance; and estate planning and trusts. Marc holds degrees from Northwestern University, a B.A. attained in 1975, M.M. in 1976, and J.D. (cum laude) in 1979.
