Keith L. Foster
Mr. Foster has lived nearly his entire life in DeKalb County, Illinois. He graduated from Northern
Illinois University (BA in Psychology 1974) and attended law school at IIT/Chicago-Kent College of
Law where he served as the Managing Editor of the Chicago-Kent Law Review and graduated with High
Honors in 1979. Mr. Foster’s legal carreer started in this firm in 1979. He also served as a
part time Assistant States Attorney from 1982-1985 and as the DeKalb County State’s Attorney on
an interim basis during 2009 by appointment of the Chief Judge of the 16th Judicial Circuit.
Mr. Foster is admitted to the bar in Illinois and in the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois.
He is a member and Past President of the DeKalb County Bar Association and is a member of the Illinois State
Bar Association.
Practice Areas: After more than 30 years as a general practitioner, Mr. Foster has focused
his practice on the areas of Estate Planning and Administration, Commercial Real Estate, Business and Commercial
Law and Municipal Law. Mr. Foster is a regular attendee of various seminars, forums and conferences given around
the country for estate planning professionals and is also a regular speaker at seminars involving all aspects of
estate planning. In addition, Mr. Foster’s practice involves all aspects of municipal representation including
litigation and Labor Arbitration.

Mr. Foster serves on the Board of Directors of the Farmers and Traders State Bank of Shabbona and on the
Board of Directors of the Cy Miller Foundation. He is very involved in community activites and currently on
the Board of Directors of TAILS Humane Society; Kishwaukee Family YMCA; Opportunity House, Inc. and The
Shabbona Lions Club.
