Carrie L. Thompson, Associate Attorney

Carrie is originally from Madison, Wisconsin. She attended Luther College in Decorah, Iowa where she double majored in Political Science and Communication and minored in Psychology. After graduating she began work as a Corporate Paralegal before she earned her Certificate of Public Management from Iowa State University in 2007 and later her Juris Doctorate from Northern Illinois University in 2011. While attending NIU-Law School she served as the Public Interest Law Society President, the Trial Advocacy Society Head of Chambers and was an Assistant Editor for the NIU Law Review.

Prior to joining the firm, Carrie was an Assistant State’s Attorney for the DeKalb County State’s Attorney’s Office where she prosecuted hundreds of felony and misdemeanor cases. In 2016 Carrie was honored with a Mother’s Against Drunk Driving Hero Award while serving in the Driving Under the Influence courtroom.

Carrie currently practices in areas of estate planning and administration, municipal law, civil litigation and family law. Carrie lives in Kane County with her husband, two daughters and their golden retriever Buckley. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and cooking.
